1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SLP GTX Test Drive

What do you get when you add ram air induction to an already power-ridden Grand Prix? SLP’s GTX, that’s what. The basic package included ram air induction, special GTX badging to replace your standard badging, and custom GTX key fobs. Ram air adds approximately 10 horsepower to your Grand Prix, be it an SE, GT, or GTP. Other items available include a full stainless steel cat-back exhaust system, sunroof, synthetic fluids package, and more.
Like SLP’s Firehawk and 1996-’97 Camaro SS, GTX Ram Air featured a forced air induction system, which included a composite hood with functional hood scoops and air box assembly.
Combined with an optional cat-back stainless steel performance exhaust system, the package increased engine output by 15 horsepower on all Grand Prix models. With twin-dual tips, the performance exhaust provided that signature SLP exhaust note.
In addition, the affordably priced GTX Ram Air included chrome plated exterior badges and two key fobs. GTX’s already aggressive stance was enhanced by optional 17″ Michelin Pilot Series P235/55/R17 tires and six spoke, chromed 17″ aluminum wheels.
