01999 Toyota Camry Solara Test Drive
The top brass at Toyota thought that coupes we’re going to come back in style. This phenomenon is cyclic, so they were already getting ready for the period after the sport utility craze by launching a coupe inspired by the Camry, called Solara. This vehicle was built in Canada in Cambridge, Ontario on the same assembly line as the Corolla, in a ratio of 1 Solara per 10 Corollas. Most of the target customers for this new model were between 40 and 49 years of age. These were couples with grown up children who no longer lived at home and were at the pre-retirement stage or already retired and busy starting a new life.
