Toyota’s T100 never stole the number of sales away from domestic brands that the company hoped it would; blame the lack of a V-8 engine, for one thing. But the all-new Tundra was to go a lot further, as it was available with not only a 190-horsepower V-6, but also a 245-horsepower version of the brilliant 4.7-liter DOHC V-8 found in the Land Cruiser. Tundra was offered in a variety of configurations, including two- or four-wheel drive, and standard two-door or extended four-door Access Cab guise. Equipment and trim levels increased of those of the T100, as did maximum towing and load capacities.
