The trend of offering R/T performance models continued at Dodge with the debut of the Stratus R/T Coupe and the Neon R/T. Though this Neon used the same basic 2.0 liter SOHC engine as the base car, the R/T package managed to coax 150 hp from the powerplant. The R/T also had stiffer springs and shocks similar to those used on the ACR package that proved so successful in club racing. The R/T Neon joined the Intrepid R/T, which was introduced in 2000 with the 3.5 liter 242 hp V6.
