2001 Infiniti QX4 Test Drive

Since the infiniti QX4 was introduced, it was identified as a will thought out and comfortable SUV. In its first major redesign, the 2001 QX4 got a bolder exterior appearance, a restyled interior, a new navigation system and an increase of 70 hp from an all-new engine.
For the first time, the 2001 QX4 was available in 2-wheel drive for buyers who don’t need the all-weather capability of a 4WD system.
The big news for 2001 was the new powertrain, a 240-hp 3.5-liter DOHC V-6, coupled to a new electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The all-mode 4-Wheel-Drive system could instantly distribute up to 50 percent of the available torque to the front wheels, automatically, without driver involvement. A limited-slip differential was available fo the rear axle. Properly equipped, QX4 could tow up to 5,000 pounds.
