The folks at Kia seemed to think its time everybody had access to an inexpensive, well made car. The 2001 Rio was their answer. The Rio was a no-nonsense, barebones car, available in just one body style and two trim levels. The base model came with basically nothing except a 96hp, DOHC 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission.
