Acura’s mid-engined supercar got some cosmetic changes for 2002. Up front, the air intake/grille area was reworked to impart a more aggressive feel and the pop-up headlamps replaced wtih fixed dual-quad units. The rear fascia got a similar type of image tweak. Two variants continued: fixed coupe and lift top NSX-T. Powertrains also carried over. Opt for the six speed manual gearbox, and you got a 3.2L/290 hp DOHC VTEC V6 engine. The optional four speed SportShift automatic was paried with a 3.0L/252-hp version.
