As the H2 Concept, it was a smash at the 2000 North American International Auto Show, and the production version hit the streets in 2002. With proven off he shelf GM Truck and SUV parts, the H2 was offered at a price roughly half that of the military based Hummer H1. Don’t expect exotic hardware like central tire inflation, inboard disc brakes, or aluminum bodywork. But do look for a solid, very capable SUV with a powerful 6.0L V8, five-link coil rear suspension form the Chevy Tahoe, all-wheel drive, and a tough as nails image.
