02002 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am Test Drive
Going out swinging, the 2002 Firebird as we knew it entered the ring for the last time. No 2003 model was planned, so if you liked the traditional rear-drive performance bargain, this was the last time to step up, if Pontiac was your dealer of choice. Next to the $40k Corvette, this(and the Camaro) was the only way to enjoy a Chevy small block V8 without moving to a truck. Added enticements for 2002 included a standard power antenna, remote mirrors, express down windows, and auto door locks. After 35 years of screaming chickens, the FIrebird’s rorty blend of style and performance gave way to a whole new… Vibe.
