2003 Acura 3.2CL Type S 6-Speed Test Drive

Acura’s mid level personal-luxury coupe received minor styling and performance enhancements for 2003. Both the 3.2 CL and Type-S carried 3.2L SOHC VTEC V-6 engines, the former making 225 hp, the latter a stout 260. However, Type-S buyers could now opt for a six-speed manual gearbox in place of the standard five-speed SportShift automatic. As in the past, the CL lineup was well equipped offering everything from four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and front/side airbags to a moonroof, DC player, and dual-power seats. Save for transmissions, a navigation system, now with OnStar was the CL’s sole option.
