Completely new, the fifth generation of Honda’s perennial best seller arrived with more style, room, performance, and sophistication than ever before. Both coupe and sedan could be had with 2.4L/160 hp i-VTEC I-4 or 3.0L/240 hp VTEC V6 engines and featured double wishbone suspensions and standard ABS. Four cylinder offered a 5M/4A transmission choice; V6s were autoshifted only, save for the hot V6 coupe with a 6M gearbox and full sport suspension. All Accords boasted a long list of standards, and EX buyers could opt for a new DVD based navi system with voice control.
