2003 Saturn VUE Test Drive

Saturn buyers asked or well-equipped Vues without AWD, so for 2003, you could get a front-driver powered by the Opel-Derived 54 degree V-6, a smooth and efficient powerplant. The five-speed automatic was similar to the unit in Cadillac’s CTS, and it shifted intuitively and felt refined in the Grand Cherokee seized VUE. Constructed on a spaceframe, the VUE was covered by plastic body panels like Saturn’s sedans. The four-cylinder VUE sold slowly since the optional sophisticated VTi continuously variable transmission wasn’t available until late in the 2002 model year. The step-less VTi combined manual transmission efficiency with automatic convenience.
