2003 Subaru Baja Test Drive

Spun from the Legacy/Outback, Subaru’s all new Baja combined attributes of a pickup and an SUV. Offering seating for 4, this compact crossover could be easily reconfigured via a Switchback system featuring a fold down lower rear bulkhead panel. Other mechanical elements included a 2.5 L 165 horsepower flat-4 engine, 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, full-time all-wheel drive, limited slip differential, 4-wheel ABS discs, and raised sport suspension. Key standards included air conditioning, leather upholstery, power windows power locks power mirrors, sunroof and an AM FM CD stereo.
