Based on the European Accord, the TSX blended spirited driving with four-door-sedan practicality. The 2.4-liter/200-horse i-VTEC engine delivered plenty of power up to its 7100-rpm redline. Despite being a four-banger, it made 166 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm and felt more like a V-6, especially with the six-speed manual gearbox (a five-speed SportShift automatic was optional). A switchable stability-control system with traction control and 17-inch wheels enhanced handling characteristics. A sophisticated voice-activated navigation, audio, and climate-control setup was optional.
