2004 BMW X3 Test Drive

For those looking for a smaller BMW Sport Activity Vehicle, the wait was finally over with the introduction of the X3. Based on the ever popular 3-Series car, the X3 got a new intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system called xDrive, which offered fast switching of power to wheels that had grip in slippery conditions. Dynamic Safety Control enhanced active safety, and in tough off-road conditions Hill Descent Control added security. THe X3 was offered with a choice of a 2.5L or 3.0L inline six engines and a six speed manual or five speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
