2004 Kia Amanti Test Drive
Not content as purveyor of low-priced small cars, Kia entered the big-car market with the Amanti. Larger inside than a LeSabre or Avalon, the Amanti packed value in its 110.2-inch wheelbase. ABS, electronic brake distribution, stability control, and traction control were all standard. So were side-impact and head-curtain airbags. The standard 195-horsepower V-6 mated to a five-speed automatic. One-touch up-and-down power windows, automatic climate control, and six-disc in-dash CD player were a few of the many standard features. Styling was derivative, but who cared? The Amanti wasa big bang for small bucks.
