The addition of the eagerly awaited 350Z Roadster was big news for 2004. It featured a power operated soft top with glass rear window that went top up to top down in 20 seconds. The unique three lock single latch system kept the top well-sealed when up. The roadster was powered by the same 3.5 L 287 horsepower V6 as the coupe, with revised gearing to compensate for the extra 240 pounds of curb weight. Both versions had the same multi-link sports suspension and choice of 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearboxes. Enthusiasm, performance, touring, and track packages provided an array of options.
