The all-new Maxima was larger than its predecessor and the Altima on which it was based. Billed as a four-seat sports car, it delivered a spirited driving experience with a 3.5-liter/260-horsepower V6 driving the front wheels. A unique industry first Skyview fixed panel ‘mohawk’ glass roof was standard. The sportier SE model had the choice of a six speed manual or vie-speed automatic its Titan King Cab and Crew Cab models. A new transmission, while the SL was more luxurious with no manual option. An Elite package turned the rear bench seat into two heated buckets with a large fixed center console. Other options packages were Sensory, Driver Preferred, and Journey.
