2004 Porsche 911 GT3 Test Drive

There were two new variants in the expansive 911 range for 2004. First was the Carrera 4S Cabriolet, a convertible version of the 911 with all-wheel-drive plus suspension and styling cues from the 911 Turbo. Second was the GT3, which Porsche purists loved as its 3.6-liter/380-horse flat-six was the most powerful non turbocharged engine Porsche had ever offered for street use in the U.S. It had a top speed of 190 mph and went 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, which was almost as fast as the 911 Turbo. To cope with this speed, it received a bigger rear wing, and ceramic brakes could be fitted to request.
