2004 Scion xA & xB Test Drive

2004-Scion1

In case you never heard, Scion was Toyota’s new brand aimed at the very youngest and hippest new-car shoppers. Every manufacturer dreams of dominating the youth market.  But only Toyota created a completely new brand to do so.  The first two Scion cars were the xA and xB.  Both were derived from the same platform and drivetrain that you found under the less hip Toyota Echo subcompact. And both Scions were powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder four that made 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque.  Either Scion could be had with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, and were both front-wheel drive.
