02005 Nissan Frontier Test Drive
The all-new 2005 Nissan Frontier was wider and longer than its predecessor. In many ways, it was a shrunken version of the full-size Titan as it shared the same basic platform. It also got some of the Titan’s features included a factory sprayed-on bedliner and UtiliTrack bed channel tiedown system. The base King Cab was available with a four-cylinder engine; otherwise, all other Frontier models were powered by a new 4.0-liter V-6 engine with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. An optional off-road traction system and shift-on-the-fly part-time 4WD gave the Frontier enhanced off-road capabilities.
