The big news for 2006 was the addition of an SS version that’ll pin your ears back in a straight line and wouldn’t scare you in the turns. It was powered by the LS2 6.0-liter V-8 that propelled this midsize SUV to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The SS had lowered suspension and 20-inch wheels and was available with rear- or all-wheel drive. The rest of the lineup got some minor changes, including increased horsepower for the six-cylinder engine. Two trim levels continued for the five-seat TrailBlazer and the seven-seat extended-wheelbase EXT models.
