02006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 Test Drive
New for 2005 and largely unchanged for 2006, the lineup included the base 300, a premium rear-drive sedan with a modest 2.7-liter V-6. The 300 touring, with or without adding the Limited package or optional AWD, offered a healthy 3.5-liter six, now tight a five-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 300C lived up to its 1957 high-performance “letter car” namesake. A 5.7-liter V-8, with or without AWD, made 340 horsepower. Not enough? Try the 6.1-liter SRT8 for 425-horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Chrysler took “blast from the past” seriously.
