1997 Sports Car Comparison Test

Contrary to all appearances, Motor Trend didn’t put this event together in the high minded pursuit of automobile evaluation. Their motive for staging this “high Speed Gamble” was for more basic. They thought it would be fun. I bet they were right! With prices and cache covering a huge range, there would be no sensible way for a winner to be chosen. Instead they set out to explore every corner of these machines formidable performance envelopes with an at-the-limit decathlon. Each car’s strengths and weaknesses would stand out in stark relief.
