The stage was set and the light was cast. Fuel efficiency was the new primary goal for each and every mass produced vehicle, and this included vans. A smaller, more fuel efficient van was soon to replace vehicles like the maxi-van. Chrysler introduced what was to replace their full-size van. A front drive layout permitted more usable cargo volume and lover overall height.
