1983 GMC S-15 Jimmy Manufacturer Promo
The new GMC Jimmy for 1983, a derivative of the S-15 design, provided a practical sized utility vehicle to meet contemporary fuel conscious customer demands. Built on a 100.5 inch wheelbase, it was available in both two, and four wheel drive models and had available 
seating for four adults. With the standard (in all states except California) GM 2.0 liter (121 cubic inch) L4 gasoline engine and four-speed manual transmission, the new two wheel drive GMC Jimmy delivered an EPA estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. For the four-wheel drive version, the EPA mileage estimates were 21 city, and 30 highway. The new Jimmy had only 4.8 square feed less floor space than the larger Himmy because of the 9.4 inch longer load floor that resulted form an improved method of folding the rear seat.
