If economy was critical, choose the 6.5 liter turbo diesel. Along with its hearty appetite for hard work, the Suburban offered comforting interior luxury, particularly in the leather lined SLT model.
All the excitement in the Yukon line for 1999 concentrated in the upscale Denali model. Though based on the Yukon SLT, the Denali had hundreds of changes inside and out that made it a significant step up.
