71988 Pontiac Fiero GT Preview Test Drive
Fiero at last. Revised suspension means that Pontiac’s mid engined sports car can now bear its name with pride; it’s a sports car at last. The Pontiac Fiero has at last made up its mind. After $30 million of suspension and chassis development the utility commuter car that looked like a sports car is now aimed down a new road for ’88. Now it is a sports car.
Pontiac waited too long to give the Fiero the suspension and powertrain it deserved, if Pontiac had done this sooner, the Fiero might’ve stood a chance of surviving in the 90s, rather than just being an icon of the 80s
Like the butterfly effect, wonder how the auto indusry would have changed if the fiero were able to live on!
I LIKE 1988 PONTIAC FIERO GT VERY FAST MODERN MUSCLE CAR
This car still looks good today; ’88 is the year to get. Great to see the site up and running, I’ve been far too busy lately to watch some of these but I’m likin’ what I see!
It’s another sad case of a car that gets cancelled, just as they got it fixed! The GT looked pretty darned good to me.
A few years longer and the Fiero would have made the Corvette look pretty bad. They know that and ccouldn’t have it. So it got axed. It’s all politics fellas.
How have I not checked for a Fiero testdrive here before?!? Love the non-stop sound of screeching tires during the whole video! One of the most-improved cars that ever was cancelled!
