Under the direction of its charismatic leader Lee Iacocca, Chrysler continued to stage one of the greatest Automotive comebacks of all time. With the changes on tap for 1984, the organization found itself with one of the best overall balance of anyone. One new model lines responsible for creating much of the excitement in 1984, were individualized versions of the 2+2 G24 front drive sport GT models in both normally aspirated and turbo guise. Together with the T-115 Caravan/Voyager, they had a profoundly positive effect on Chrysler’s market share. The corporate decision to expand the use of electronic fuel injection and turbo charging on its 2.2 L engine also helped boost corporate popularity.
