1985 Pontiac Sunbird SE Turbo Sedan Manufacturer Promo
A new nose and optional 150-horsepower turbo four-cylinder made news for Pontiac’s 1984 J-car which was also renamed Sunbird, and these looks carried over for 1985. Otherwise the forced-induction models carried over from the year before virtually unchanged. Oddly enough, the turbocharged Sunbird models were finding few takers, at least at the SE trim level: While it’s difficult to identify how many base and LE models went out the door with the turbo four in 1984, only 5,769 SE models were sold during the car’s first year, including 2,141 two-doors, 2,165 three doors, and 1,373 four-doors. If that was bad news, things only got worse for 1985, when SE sales in total reached just 2,158 units (965 two-doors, 535 three-doors and 658 four-doors). – Source
