01993 Nissan Altima Test Drive
As the replacement for Stanza, the front-drive Altima competed with the Toyota Camry, but unlike Camry, Altima was only available in sedan form and only with a four-cylinder powerplant. This wasn’t a concern, however, as the 2.4-liter DOHC (borrowed from the 240SX) made 150 horsepower and delivered V6 levels of performance. Clean styling and a comfortable interior, though a bit tight in the rear, and a driver-side airbag, were pluses.
