01995 Mazda Millenia Test Drive
Not too long before the Millenia, Mazda was developing a second echelon of luxo-sport sedans targeted as the prestigious Japanese and German nameplates. This new line of cars was to be called Amati. Unfortunately, the declining economy sealed Amati’s fate before the division ever blossomed, which left a fine front drive V-6 sedan. That car became the Mazda Millenia. Such mechanical sophistication as a four-wheel multi-link suspension, traction control, and a taut body structure teamed with class leading aerodynamics to create a strong lux-for-the-bux value. The top-line S model received the potent 2.3-liter/210-horsepower supercharged V-6.
