02002 VW Jetta GLX VR6 Wagon Test Drive
The 2002 Jetta story was all about power and minor refinements. The turbocharged four-cylinder went from 150 to 180 hp, and the V-6 now had four valves per cylinder and produced 201 hp. Both were available with a five-speed automatic transmission with the option of Tiptronic semi-manual shifting. A six-speed manual was available later for the V6. The Jetta wagon made its appearance as the European sport wagon continued to grow in popularity. Otherwise, the Jetta carried forward with minimal changes to the suspension, body, and interior.
