02000 Nissan Sentra Test Drive
Not available until early 2000, Nissan promised its new Sentra would be worth the wait. On the mechanical end, a new global front-drive platform provided superior ride quality while a pair of more powerful engines added power. The 1.8-liter inline four boosted output to 125 horses and the 2.0-liter variation now got 145 ponies. Unique styling that included a reshaped front end gave a sleeker appearance to the next-generation Sentra. Trim levels were simplified a bit, but an XE, GXE, adn SE trim were available to suit your taste and budget. Although the Sentra coupe was discontinued, the new sedan would meld coupe-like fun-to-drive quality with sedan practicality.
