02004 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart Test Drive
Mitsubishi’s performance-flagship Evolution returned for 2004 with its mighty 271-horse turbo four, AWD, Brembo brakes, huge spoilers, 17-inch alloys, and sport suspension. For 2004 the Lancer lineup expanded with the all-new Sportback offered in LS and Ralliart editions. The five-door wagon was powered by a new 2.4-liter/162-horsepower MIVEC four coupled to a four-speed automatic, while the Ralliart 2.4-liter sedan offered a choice of a five speed manual or automatic. The ES, LS and OZ Rally sedans carried over with a 120-horse four. All Lancers (except Evolution) go freshened front and rear styling for 04.
