GM Fastbacks, two- and four-door, continued to lure a fare share of buyers. Oldsmobile sees only detail changes for “dynamic” 1948models, but the “futuramic” 98 bows in February as one of GM’s first all new postwar models. How “scientific” it was may be debatable, but the 1948 Oldsmobile”futuramic” 98, from Harley Earl’s Art and Colour studio, was one of GM’s first totally new postwar designs. Modern shaping-especially in the rear-gave the new Oldsmobile 98 a longer, lower look. Actually, its wheelbase was now a tad shorter. More than 65,000 98s were built in 1948.
LOL! If you look at the video @ 1:36 the title says “OLDSNOBILE” instead of “OLDSMOBILE”! LOL! Olds”NO”bile is where it is today!
i looked at it, and while i initially agreed, i think it is just because of the old video quality, that scrunches the middle peak of the M to look like it doesnt exist! Funny though!
