1992 Mercedes Benz S-Class Test Drive
By redesigning the top of its range, Mercedes went beyond all of its preceding models. Some bodies in different versions have an identical wheelbase, 4 inches longer on the S420, S500 and S600 than on the S350 and S320. With its V12 engine, which reaches a rare technological peak, the S600can pretend to compete with the Rolls Royce and Bentley. Coming down the scale, you find 5.0L and 4.2L V8s with which it shares the long body while the short one uses the 3.2L gasoline or the 3.5L turbo diesel in-line 6-cylinders. All of the transmissions are 4-speed automatics.
