41993 Mazda AZ-1 Preview
The Autozam AZ-1, known as the framecode PG6SA, was a mid-engined two-seat sports coupé kei car, designed and manufactured by Suzuki but sold by Mazda under its Autozam brand. It debuted in October 1992 until production ceased in 1994, and was perhaps most noted for its gullwing doors. Power came from the same Suzuki-sourced 657 cc turbocharged engine used by the Mazda Carol that produced 64 PS (47 kW) at 6500 rpm and 85 N·m (63 ft·lbf) at 4000 rpm. Suzuki produced its own badge engineered version named the Suzuki Cara.
Ooh, I want one.
Neat video Joel! I’d forgotten all about this micro machine.
I never knew this was designed by Suzuki, I always thought it was all Mazda designed. So would this have been considered the predecessor of the Suzuki Cappuccino?
I think the same. Back then it was all Mazda with Suzuki engine not engineered by Suzuki.
