11994 Mitsubishi Galant Preview & Test Drive
The all-new 1994 Galant grew slightly in size, ang brought a wealth of improvements to the “sensibly priced” range of family machines. There were four trim levels (S, ES, LS, and GS) plus a wide variety of hednistic options. Though each mode was powered by a 2.4-liter four, the uplevel GS received a DOHC version that increased output to 160 horsepower (0-60 mph in 8.3 seconds with the five-speed GS; 9.4 seconds in an automatic LS.) While dual airbags were standard across the board, anti-lock brakes were optional on all but the base model. A comfortable interior and competent handling were two more pluses.
Wow, how far has Mitsubishi fallen in the U.S. market since these videos were new. If only they could’ve seen into the future back then.
