01988 Maserati Biturbo Si Test Drive
Maserati only sold the Biturbo 2500 in 1988. Designed by Guigiaro, it was equipped with a sophisticated2.5 Liter V6 with 3 valves per cylinder and twin IHI turbos (one for each cylinder bank), something more related to the racing scene, along with 4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes. While its overall dimensions were comparable to a BMW 325, or a Mercedes 190 2.6, the interior finis was more luxuries with superb pleated leather trim and high quality lacquered wood veneers. The Maserati Biturbo was a unique concept. Its compact format boasted very handsome clean styling, the brio of Italian engines, a glorious racing heritage, and the warm unmatched interior finish.
