1995 Toyota T100 Test Drive

1995-toyota-t100b Toyota’s foray into the compact pickup market was announced with substantial publicity. Unfortunately, the T100’s debut was rather quiet. This company took its usual, a methodical approach to correct the drawbacks of a model that had experienced its fair share of difficulties.
If results weren’t very dazzling at the outset its simply because this pickup, billed as an ideal sized model, was one of the longest in the industry while it 150hp V6 engine couldn’t get the job done. Worse still, it was impossible to order an extended cab version, an imperative on the North American market. Even if the T100 was designed in America for North Americans, even if it had the traditional sturdiness typical of Toyota products, consumers turned their backs on the new comer.

One Response to 1995 Toyota T100 Test Drive

  1. Kevin Woodard says:

While the T100 wasn’t a success story, its replacement has been, perhaps even more! The Tundra may not be a top seller, but it has already done things the old T100 could not. Since 2007, the Tundra has been roughly the size of a Ford Super Duty, even though it does not offer a diesel or dual-rear-wheel option.
