21997 Ford F-150 Test Drive
The emperor finally got new clothes. The Ford F-series Pickups, the best selling vehicle, car or truck, in the US was completely new form the ground up in 1997. Ford had not only redesigned it, but also taken it in a different direction from GM’s, Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
I ordered a ’97 F150 4×4 standard cab short bed and the sales guy jacked up the specs so bad that I drove it while a new ’98 was ordered the way I initially spec’d it out. I still have that truck, but sadly it’s for sale. It’s a 5.4L, A4, 3.55LSD, with everything but power mirrors (option in ’98 but standard in ’97). It’s been a great truck and I hate to see it go, but I need to make room for my G8 garage queen and my 2013 RAM I just ordered.
Thanks for posting this Baja!
We still have our 97 F150! Purchased off the dealer lot in 98!
