1987 Mercury Lynx Maunfacturer Promo
Companion to the Ford Escort in FoMoCo’s compact lineup, was the 1987 Mercury Lynx, offered in an identical range of bodystyles. Mercury definitely hewed to tradition with the Lynx, marketed with ever so slightly better trim and higher prices than the Ford. Restyled the year prior with flush Sable-esque styling treatment upfront, why change a winner. The higher end performance oriented XR3 too returned as a duplicate to the ‘lesser’ Escort GT, with functional aero spats and attractive 15″, four spoked wheels. With enough charm to enamour a parking lot attendant out of a citation, anybody wise enough to choose a 1987 Lynx deserves a little special consideration.
