1976 Mazda Cosmos Test Drive
Continuing on the rotary-engine road, Mazda had an impressive new model for 1976 – the Cosmo. It was the best car Mazda had introduced, and with the exclusive two rotor engine, it was without competitors in the luxury GT coupe market. At idle, noise and vibration were barely discernible. Yet it would wind to 7000 rpm easily with no more noise than a V8 running at half that speed.
