1979: Baby Cobra

The small AC Cars factory that supplied Carroll Shelby with the chassis for his famed Cobra started a small scale production of its AC 3000. If Shelby ever had thoughts of updating the Cobra theme, this was the car to do it. This radical fiberglass bodied coupe was powered by a Ford “Essex” 3-liter V6 mounted midships.  The transmission was a 5-speed manual box designed by AC, which used gears from the famous British racing transmission specialists, Hewland Engineering.
