1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am Turbo Commercial
Incorrectly hailed as the first turbocharged American car, the 1980 Indy-pacing Turbo-Trans Am is still very collectible. The $11,195 fully-loaded Pontiac came with special paint, turbo cast wheels, special upholstery and a 4.9 liter V-8 with an AiResearch turbo that developed 210 net horsepower. It had a 0-to-60 time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 116 miles per hour.
