1980: Was the ‘Bustle’ back, too controversial?

The 1980 Seville experienced a slight sales decline from its predecessor, but this may have been due more to depressed market conditions than to is controversial styling. A facelift for 1982 was to bring it closer to the one of the early design proposals for the original Seville. Planned hood lowering for better aerodynamics, and the rear end lines were to be raised to soften the severity of the ‘bustle’ trunk.
