11981 Chrysler Promo – Development of the K Car
The car that would save Chrysler bowed with appropriate fanfare for 1981 as the Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant “K-car” compacts. Both offered transverse four-cylinder power, front-wheel drive, and room for four passengers in coupes, sedans, and five-door wagons, priced from around $6000.
