1981 Chevrolet Citation VS K-Car Manufacturer Promo
While the other Citations received trim and appearance changes for 1981, the Citation X-11 HO 660 (high output 6-cylinder, 60 degree) featured engine work and a suspension that would make you cry for joy. The HO engine emitted 18% more power than the stock V-6 via 9.0:1 compression, 3mm larger intake and exhaust valves, cross drilled crankshaft main bearing journals and a camshaft with more lift than the stocker. Intake air comes fresh through a working hood scoop and after the catalytic converter, the exhaust system gets larger and more capable. Low gear was now 3.3:1, and if the automatic was chosen, it came complete with a modified valvebody and different torque converter. The revised F41 suspension had a larger diameter anti roll bar in front and rear (27mm, 21mm), higher rate spring and firmer bushings.
