1989 Ford Thunderbird & Mercury Cougar Test Drive
The latest example of the celebrated Thunderbird and its sister the Mercury Cougar was not without panache. For a Detroit offering, its styling was superb – world class. Hat worked against them was their considerable size and weight which meant they really only sold in North America, where gasoline was relatively inexpensive. The 3.8 Liter V6 was a necessity to obtain decent performance or some real zip.
